The film critics are weighing in and giving awards season momentum to Anomalisa and Pixar’s Inside Out.
The Los Angeles Film Critics Association gave Anomalisa its best animation award. The film’s score also was honored as one of two the org mentioned in giving Carter Burwell its best music score honor.
Across the nation, the Boston Society of Film Critics declared a tie in its best animated film category, honoring both Anomalisa and Pixar’s Inside Out.
Written by Charlie Kaufmann and directed by Kaufmann and Duke Johnson, Anomalisa is being released Dec. 30 by Paramount.
Inside Out is one of two films released this year by Pixar Animation Studios, and is directed by Pete Docter.
