Toon Boom Animation, the makers of Harmony and Storyboard Pro, have entered a technology partnership with Toronto’s Guru Studio. Under the agreement, the engineers of both R&D teams will work together to develop and incorporate innovative software features into Toon Boom Harmony.
Over the past three years, Guru has developed a number of custom modules for Harmony while working on hit series Ever After High. These tweaks have allowed the studio’s artists to create award-winning animation while improving their workflow with custom tools. Toon Boom will now work with Guru to bring some of these modules to the global Harmony customer base, extending the existing toolset.
“The custom tools we’ve been able to implement in Harmony have freed our artists and allowed them to focus their skills on strong posing, design and subtle facial acting,” said Chris Fourney, Senior 2D Software Architect at Guru Studio. “We are excited to bring some of these tools to the global community of Harmony artists and we look forward to developing new technology that continues to advance the art of animation and our relationship with Toon Boom,” said Frank Falcone, President and Creative Director at Guru Studio.
