Google Spotlight Stories ‘On Ice’ Released

A new immersive VR story experience for Google Spotlight Stories, director Shannon Tindle’s On Ice, is now available on YouTube, viewable on many Android devices and Google Cardboard, with a release on the Google Spotlight Stories app for iOS and Android coming soon.

On Ice is centered on an over-the-top, sci-fi themed ice show starring a Flash Gordon-esque figure who suddenly finds he has competition for the spotlight from an unlikely rival … a bear. The short is full of audio and visual surprises that occur on and off the rink stage — including a musical homage to Queen. And viewers can catch the highlights they missed on the Main Stage by looking up to check the Jumbotron.

Shannon Tindle, who won an Emmy Award in 2006 for his animation work on Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends (“Go Goo Go”), directed the project, which was created in collaboration with Evil Eye Pictures.
