Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have revealed a new trailer for the upcoming CG animated family feature, The Wild Life, due in theaters September 9. Produced with Europe’s StudioCanal and nWave (The House of Magic, Sammy’s Adventure, Fly Me to the Moon), the film is a talking-animal comedy take on the classic tale of castaway Robinson Crusoe, directed by Victor Kesteloot and Ben Stassen.
Set on a tropical island that’s a paradise for animals, The Wild Life centers on an unlikely pack of friends: over-exuberant parrot Mak, snack-obsessed tapir Rosie, persnickety echidna Epi, acrobatic pangolin Pango, ditzy goat Scrubby, common-sense kingfisher Kiki and always-cool chameleon Carmello. When the human Robinson Crusoe becomes marooned on the island during a furious storm, the animals must figure out how to get along with the new “creature” in their midst. Things get even hairier when two savage cats Mal and May decide to launch a coup for control of the island.
