ZDF Enterprises has announced its programming lineup for the 2016 MIPTV market next month. Among weight European dramas and upbeat format offerings, the company will be promoting three animated series under its ZDFE.junior banner.
Aimed at kids and teens, Scream Street (52 x 11) is a fast-paced, stylish, kinda gross comedy-horror extravaganza based on the hit book series. The Coolabi-produced stop-motion show centers on Luke Watson — a regular teen who happens to carry the werewolf gene. When the Government House of Unusual Lifeforms (G.H.O.U.L.) finds out, Luke and his parents are moved to Scream Street, where surfer-dude zombies, sarcastic vampires, martial arts mummies, glamorous witches and other strange creatures put a new spin on community spirit.
For preschoolers, there’s Coconut the Little Dragon (two seasons, 104 x 12 total). The colorful CG series centers on a young dragon named Coconu who has trouble with flying, his fellow dragon Oscar — the only vegetarian in his family — and Matilda the porcupine. The three friends band together to solve any problems they encounter on Dragon Island, making new friends along the way. The show is produced by Caligari.
And The New Adventures of Peter Pan (total 52 x 22) from DQ Entertainment is ready to take off worldwide. The CG-animated adventure series brings back J.M. Barrie’s classic characters as Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael and the Lost Kids take on the dastardly Captain Hook and explore the incredible world of Neverland.
