GBI Scores New Partners for ‘SpacePOP’

Genius Brands International has signed on a number of new licensing partners for its new music- and fashion-driven tween girls brand, SpacePOP — a colorful series of animated music videos for online and digital platforms which features original music produced by Ron and Stefanie Fair, character designs by Han Lee and a writing team headed by Steve Banks.

TASTE Beauty, Bare Tree Media, Canal Toys and Yowie Group, Ltd. are the latest partners to strike deals for the brand. They join Jaya Apparel, H.E.R. Accessories, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and publishing house Imprint.

TASTE Beauty will create a line of branded beauty products aimed at tween girls and inspired by the SpacePOP princesses, including lip balm and gloss, nail polish and accessories, bath and body products and specialty gift sets.

Imprint, part of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, will launch a new book series with Not Your Average Princesses, an original middle grade novel with graphic novel inserts, written by Erin Downing and illustrated by Jen Bartel.

Bare Tree Media is creating a range of emoticons based on the SpacePOP characters as well as digital stickers, mobile phone themes, web-enabled TV themes and more branded embellishments for mobile messaging, social media and digital photos.

Canal Toys is busy developing craft and activity kits inspired by the brand. And Australian confectionery and publishing company Yowie Group will deliver edible chocolate princesses (and an evil Empress you can sink your teeth into).
