This year’s fifth annual Asian Animation Summit will take place in Brisbane, Australia from November 22-24, organizers have announced. An initiative of KOCCA (Korea), MDeC (Malaysia) and SIPA/DITP (Thailand), AAS 2016 is owned and produced by Kidscreen, and generously supported by Screen Queensland and Brisbane Marketing.
This year, organizers anticipate roughly 200 attendees to take part in the event, which is designed for animation companies seeking co-production projects with partners in the Asia-Pacific region; as well as broadcasters, distributors and investors from nearby and abroad.
Over the course of the three-day event, 24 projects from Australia, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and elsewhere in Asia-Pacific that are brand-new to the market and looking for financing and partners will be presented. Each day will begin with an informative panel discussion or presentation that explores new market trends, business models or creative techniques that are highly relevant to local producers.
