L.A. based distributor Eleven Arts and Toei Animation announce that they will release the English-language version of feature-length anime Digimon Adventure tri. – Chapter 1: Reunion nationwide this fall. The film will bow with a special one-night Fathom Events screening in 300-plus cinemas across the U.S. on September 15, followed by a multi-city theatrical roll-out.
“We are excited to partner with Eleven Arts to share this exciting title with audiences across the U.S.,” said Masayuki Endo, President of Toei Animation Inc. “American viewers have been eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Digimon saga for nearly sixteen years, and we’re delighted to have produced this English language version for theaters, giving it the cinematic treatment our fans deserve.”
Digimon Adventure tri. – Chapter 1: Reunion is the first English-language feature film entry in the popular Digimon Adventure tri. series, which has not yet been released to American audiences. The film takes place six years after the summer adventure when Tai (now in high school) and the other DigiDestined crossed over to the Digital World, and nearly three years since the frenzied final battles between warring factions. With the gate to the Digital World closed, time continues to pass — until events conspire to Digivolve once more.
