Cinekid has chosen 30 children’s media projects in development to participate in its Junior Co-production Market, taking place October 20-21 in Amsterdam. Selections include both animation and live-action titles in three categories: cross-media, film and TV. Over 300 international kids’ media pros are expected to attend this year’s market.
Two awards will be handed out at JCM: the CfP Best Project Award (2,500 euros) for the best overall project, and the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award of 20,000 euros to be put toward a European production. Winners will be announced Oct. 21.
Previous JCM editions have resulted in productions now taking part in the 2016 Cinekid festival, such as Get Santa directed by Jacob Ley (Copenhagen Bombay / CB Sverige AB), featuring in the Best Children’s Film Competition this year.
