‘Despicable Me 3’ Trailer Drops with Retro Baddy Flair

Universal Pictures has revealed the official trailer for Illumination Entertainment’s summer 2017 sequel, Despicable Me 3 … and oh, how revealing it is! Slated for release June 30, this latest franchise entry gets like, totally ‘80s with new a new bad guy voiced by South Park’s Trey Parker. Weaponized Rubik’s cubes, high-tech bubble gum and shoulder pads?

“There’s only one super villain whose fashion sense is quite that dated … Balthazar Bratt!”

In his third big screen adventure, Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) face off with former child star turned super villain Balthazar Bratt (Parker) on behalf of the Anti-Villain League, and Gru is in for some serious sibling rivalry with the reappearance of his long-lost twin brother, Dru (also Carell). Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier and Nev Scharrel voice Gru’s adopted girls, with Pierre Coffin reprising his acclaimed Minions act.

Despicable Me 3 is directed by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin and produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, from a screenplay by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul.
