German brand management and media company m4e AG has sold the TV rights to its animated preschool series Wissper to new broadcast partners on the Iberian Peninsula. The 52-episode CG show has been picked up by TVE’s dedicated kids channel Clan in Spain, as well as public broadcaster RTP and pay TV channel Canal Panda in Portugal.
Planeta Junior, m4e’s strategic distribution partner in Iberia and Latin America, is already developing a strong licensing program for Spain and Portugal.
Wissper follows the adventures of a little girl of the same name who has the special ability to communicate with animals, which allows her to understand and help solve their problems.
The series is created by London-based animation studio Cuckoo (formerly Absolutely Cuckoo), in co-production with m4e AG, Telegael (Ireland), Discreet Art Productions (India) and BASTEI Media GmbH (Germany), a subsidiary of Bastei Lübbe AG. A second 52-episode season has recently been greenlit for production. Worldwide distribution is handled by m4e.
