Superights Finds New Homes for ‘Pat the Dog’

Animated comedy series Pat the Dog (78 x 7) has been “adopted” into new broadcast homes following its launch at last year’s MIP Junior market, where it ranked No. 3 out of over 1,000 registered programs.

Distribution partner Superights announced that Turner has acquired cartoon for its second flagship channel, Boomerang, across EMEA and Asia Pacific. Turner’s POGO and Cartoon Network channels will also carry Pat the Dog in APAC.

Originally commissioned by Canal+ and RAI, the TV series is based on the mobile game sensation played by some 27 million people worldwide. Previously announced broadcasting partners include RTBF, VRT, Radio Canada and Discovery Latin America. Discussions are underway with potential buyers across Europe and the US.

Pat the Dog is produced by French studio Superprod and Italian company Animoka, and is set to premiere this spring.
