A different sort of knight in shining armor will make his small screen debut next month as Adult Swim premieres animated adventure comedy Apollo Gauntlet on Sunday, July 9 at 12:15 a.m. ET/PT. (Viewers can also pre-binge the entire series in advance on AdultSwim.com starting July 7.)
Set in a futuristic medieval society, the 2D-animated quarter-hour series centers on Paul Cassidy, an ordinary cop here on our Earth. But when the evil Dr. Benign transports him to another world, he becomes a new kind of hero. With the help of a magical suit and a set of talking gauntlets, he’s able to fight crime exactly the way he wants…and he’ll do it as Apollo Gauntlet!
Apollo Gauntlet is created by self-taught Canadian animator Myles Langlois, inspired by a mix of He-Man, Mystery Science Theater 3000 and the oeuvre of David Lynch. MONDO’s Six Point Harness studio is producing.
