BBC Inks First Kids’ Content Deal with Amazon Prime

BBC Worldwide has set a multi-year licensing deal with Amazon Prime Video, giving the SVOD service’s subscribers in the UK and Ireland access to a slew of TV series from CBeebies and CBBC. The agreement marks BBCW’s first children’s package available on Prime in the territory.

“The deal reflects the growing investment that leading streaming services like Amazon Prime Video are making to offer world-class, high quality children’s programming to their subscribers,” said Jonathan Newman, Sales & Business Development Director at BBC Worldwide, who agreed the deal.

Over 520 episodes will be heading to the streaming platform, with series start dates staggered over the year. The non-exclusive agreement covers popular animated titles such as CBeebies’ International Emmy-winning Hey Duggee, Go Jetters, Sarah & Duck, Charlie & Lola and the new Clangers, as well as live-action fare including Gigglebiz (CBeebies), The Story of Tracy Beaker and Horrible Histories (CBBC).

Hey Duggee and Sarah & Duck season 1, Tracey Beaker season 1, and Horrible Histories seasons 2-4 are available now.
