‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Premiere Shatters HBO Ratings Records
The Sunday night premiere drew 16.1MN viewers (10.1MN via linear TV) — a whopping 50% increase from last year’s season 6 premiere. Season 6, which saw the series outpace George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire books, pulled an average audience of 25.7MN per episode. The latest premiere was accompanied by a strange noise phenomenon that almost sounded like 10 million people screaming “WINTER HAS COME, M*****F*****” at the same time.
