The British Film Academy announced the nominees for this year’s BAFTA Awards this morning.
The three titles competing for the Best Animated BATFA are:
• Coco (Lee Unkrich, Darla K. Anderson)
• Loving Vincent (Dorota Kobiela, Hugh Welchman, Ivan Mactaggart)
• My Life as a Zucchini (Claude Barras, Max Karli)
In the Animated Short category, the nominees are:
• Have Heart (Will Anderson)
• Mamoon (Ben Steer)
• Poles Apart (Paloma Baeza, SerEn Low)
The nominees in the Special Visual Effects category are:
• Blade Runner 2049 (GerdNefzer, John Nelson)
• Dunkirk (Scott Fisher, Andrew Jackson)
• The Shape of Water (Dennis Berardi, Trey Harrell, Kevin Scott)
• Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Nominees to be determined)
• War for the Planet of the Apes (Nominees to be determined)
The hybrid CG-live action feature Paddington 2, which will arrive in U.S. theaters this Friday, was also nominated for the Outstanding British Film and Adapted Screenplay awards.
The EE British Academy Film Awards take place Feb. 18 at the Royal Albert Hall in London and will be hosted by actress Joanna Lumley. You can find the complete list of nominees here.
