Madrid-based kids and family content distribution leader Imira Entertainment announces a raft of key sales deals in Latin America and the US as well as EMEA regions in the run up to NATPE, where it will present its new slate of premium series when it takes place in Miami, FL next week. In the Americas, Imira and Russia’s Signal Media have formed a distribution alliance for the latter’s new LatAm/US Hispanic territories channel for 12 Imira series, including its own productions Lucky Fred (Seasons 1 & 2, 104 x 12′); Bat Pat, an Atlantyca, Imira, Mondo TV production with Rai and TVE (52 x 11′); new titles including BabyRiki, KikoRiki and both seasons of Smighties (78 x 7′); plus classics like The Smurfs and Imira’s Sandra, The Fairytale Detective. Condista has snagged US Hispanic rights for FUN Union’s “Riki Universe” shows KikoRiki (S1-3, 216 x 6’30” & 52 x 11′), BabyRiki (104 x 5′) and PinCode (104 x 13′); globetrotting preschool adventure Hogie the Globehopper (52 x 11′) from Lil Critter Workshop; imaginative pre-k series YoYo (52 x 7′) from Showlab; and SAMG’s Vroomiz (78 x 13′).

US SVOD platform Jason Media USA has also picked up six shows: YoYo, Cam & Leon (117 x 3′ & 39 x 7′), Miniforce (52 x 13′), Vroomiz S1 & 2, Watch Car (52 x 13′) and Mika’s Diary (52 x 7′).

Across Europe, deals have been signed with Discovery for Toonz co-pros Smighties (78 x 7′) and outdoor science series Darwin & Newts (40 x 11′) for the UK and Middle East; Turner Italy picked up the animal-shaped vehicle adventure Vroomiz for Cartoonito; Televisió de Catalunya (TVC) scooped all three KikoRiki seasons for Super3 Kids; and United Media SARL, which broadcasts in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro, has snapped up Lucky Fred and Alisa (24 x 26′).

Imira can be found at the Spanish Pavilion at NATPE, with nine new-to-market titles. These are Zelly Go (104 x 1’30”; Imira holds worldwide rights), a non-dialog comedy about jelly-obsessed little characters from Dream Factory Studio; FUN Union’s comedy science-adventures for preschoolers and kids KikoRiki, BabyRiki and PinCode; the pet chameleon caper Cam & Leon from Giggle Garage; Darwin & Newts from Toonz Media Group and co-produced with White Baite Media; Smighties, a fantastical adventure about small and mighty heroes from Herotainment; and Sinbad and the 7 Galaxies (26 x 11′), a space comedy-adventure with an environmental edge. Imira will also showcase Badanamu Cadets (52 x 11′), the new CG animated series based on Calm Island’s YouTube preschool educational phenomena, aimed at a slightly older audience.

“Imira is coming to NATPE with an excellent catalogue, once again improved thanks to the new titles incorporated, and building on a fantastic 2017 with huge growth in sales, especially in the Spanish-speaking region such as LatAm and US hispanics,” says Imira’s CEO, Sergi Reitg. “These excellent results are the result of the work of 15 years in the region and we appreciate all the support of both IP owners and clients in the region to continue growing and improving.”
