Germany’s top animation and vfx confab FMX has announced the initial lineup for its upcoming event, which takes place April 24-27 in Stuttgart. Blue Sky Studios’ Oscar-winning animation helmer Chris Wedge (Bunny, Ice Age, Robots, Epic) will be headlining the event, it was announced this morning. Among the event’s other highlights:
Content Creation in Times of Virtual Studio. Matthieu Mazzerole (Foundry), Mathieu Miller (Unity), Ton Roosendaal (Blender) Hugo Guerra (fire without smoke), Jean-Colas Prunier (FilmFlow) and Felix Mertikat (King Racoon Games) will discuss the rise of virtual studios and new platforms for digital exchange. Hosted by Kathleen Maher and Jon Peddie.
The Art of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Forza Motorsport 7. There will be a special focus on the visual arts and development of the latest games. Panelists include Jean Guesdon (Ubisoft), creative director of Assassin’s Creed and Scott Lee (Turn 10), art director of Forza Motorsport 7.
Among the other studios and companies participating at the event this year are Mackevision, Allegorithmic, Xsens, Binary Alchemy, Chaos Group, Animal Logic, Axis Production, Illumination Mac Guff, and Pixomondo, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Mediadesign Hochschule, Plymouth College and the University of South Wales.
