Jack-Jack’s Unpredictable Powers Teased in ‘Incredibles 2’ Olympics Spot

Viewers got an informative first-look at the highly anticipated Disney-Pixar sequel Incredibles 2 during the NBC Olympics coverage on Wednesday night. The spot shows how Bob (a.k.a. Mr. Incredible) struggles to be a super parent while Elastigirl is called upon to save the day — something made even more tricky by the unpredictable emergence of Jack-Jack’s varied powers. We also meet Bob Odenkirk’s character, the telecom mogul slash superhero fan Winston Deavor, and check in with Violet, Dash, Frozone and the inimitable sage of fashion and life advice, Edna Mode.

Written and directed by returning helmer Brad Bird (Ratatouille, The Iron Giant), Incredibles 2 swoops in to save the day in theaters on June 15.

Synopsis: In Incredibles 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack — whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) is by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

As previously announced, the voice cast also features Brad Bird as Edna Mode, Bob Odenkirk as Winston Deavor, Catherine Keener as Evelyn Deavor, Jonathan Banks as Rick Dicker, Sophia Bush as Voyd, and Isabella Rosellini as the Ambassador. Producers are John Walker (The Incredibles) and Nicole Grindle (Sanjay’s Super Team).
