Fox Searchlight has shared the first official clip for writer-director Wes Anderson’s highly anticipated return to animation, Isle of Dogs! In the footage, rival packs square off over an enticing bag of trash. When a voice of reason pipes up, the dogs take a different approach to the situation… for a moment.
The film is set in a dystopian future Japan, where dogs have been quarantined to the remote “Trash Island” due to a canine flu. When his bodyguard-dog Spots is exiled, 12-year-old Atari sets off to search the island in a miniature plane, where he teams up with a pack of mongrels and ends up on an epic journey that will decide the fate of the entire Prefecture. Isle of Dogs arrives in theaters March 23.
