Nominations for the Television Academy’s 45th Daytime Emmy Awards were announced Wednesday on CBS show The Talk. While ABC’s long-running soap opera titan General Hospital made the biggest splash with 26 nominations, DreamWorks Animation Television’s All Hail King Julien and its Exiled addendum came out on top of the Animated Program categories with a combined seven nods. This helped Netflix score as the top outlet, with 28 nominations throughout the animation and related categories.
The 2018 Daytime Emmys will be awarded Sunday, April 29 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in SoCal, and live-streamed on Facebook, Twitter, and the Academy’s Emmy Online site. The Creative Arts ceremony will be held the Friday before. This year’s Lifetime Achievement honorees are actors Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes, and producers Sid and Marty Krofft.
