Eric Cherry to Lead Global Biz Dev from New Rooster Teeth London

Online entertainment powerhouse Rooster Teeth has opened an office in London, England and added Global Business Development lead Eric Cherry to the team. From London, Cherry will execute international growth strategies with a focus in 2018 on growing the RTX London pop culture event.

The first RTX London, a celebration of gaming, animation and internet culture, was held in October 2017 at the ExCeL Centre for more than 15,000 attendees. The inaugural event brought out Rooster Teeth talent like Gavin Free (The Slow Mo Guys), Burnie Burns, Barbara Dunkelman, Geoff Ramsey, Gus Sorola and special guest James Buckley. RTX London will return to the ExCeL Centre September 15-16 with an expected 18,000 attendees; tickets become available for the general public on April 27.

Tickets and more info available at rtxlondon.com.

Cherry is also tasked with growing other parts of the Rooster Teeth business internationally, including consumer products, live events, media licensing, Rooster Teeth’s premium SVOD service FIRST, sponsorships, and talent acquisition.

Cherry began working with Rooster Teeth in 2008, initially with home video then expanding through his Australian agency Hanabee Entertainment, where he handled their broader consumer product sales and produced consumer events ranging from hundreds to 15,000 attendees. Cherry’s career began in 1997 with the music label Epitaph Records, and he moved to Australia through a company initiative in 2000. From there, he developed a wide array of entrepreneurial skills in the music, film, anime, new media and consumer events industries. Milestones on his watch include the first accredited gold records for Tom Waits and The Black Keys, ushering the return of maverick director Alejandro Jodorowsky to the Australian cinema, and the procurement of the large-scale USA gaming convention RTX to Sydney.
