As Comic-Con International grows in numbers and scope each year, it’s getting harder to cover every important event, trailer premiere and panel that takes place at the San Diego confab. Here are some of the key highlights of the 2018 edition collected in one place:
- Fans of Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley’s iconic Kim Possible series got a first look at Disney’s live-action feature, starring Sadie Stanley as the dynamic heroine. Set to debut in 2019, the Disney Channel movie centers on about an everyday high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from villains. Kim is being recreated by dead ringer Sadie Stanley, while Sean Giambrone of ABC’s The Goldbergs plays loyal best friend, Ron Stoppable.
- Cartoon Network got Steven Universe fans excited by sharing a trailer from the show’s upcoming feature-length TV movie. Series creator Rebecca Sugar was joined by stars Zach Callison, Estelle, Michaela Dietz, Shelby Rabara and Deedee Magno to share the new teaser. Look for a mysterious character who appears at the trailer’s end! CN also announced an upcoming crossover special that will team up the heroes of OK K.O.!, Ben 10, Teen Titans Go! and Steven Universe.
- Netflix also had a huge presence at the Con this past weekend. Simpsons and Futurama mastermind Matt Groening shared a new trailer for his upcoming show Disenchantment during a special panel that featured showrunner Josh Weinstein and producer Claudia Katz from animation studio Rough Draft, along with cast Eric Andre, Nat Faxon, John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille and David Herman.
