KLIK 2018 Official Selections Announced

The KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival has revealed its 2018 official selections, comprising an energetic and well-rounded program of shorts, features, student work, kid-friendly fare and more. This year, programmers reviewed 1,670 films from more than 80 countries to create the lineup for 2018’s “State of Mind” themed event, taking place October 10-14.

As previously announced, special guests confirmed so far include The Breadwinner director Nora Twomey, and filmmaker/curator/educator Faiyaz Jafri.

The diverse shorts selection include buzzy films and new pieces by acclaimed filmmakers, such as Weekends by Trevor Jimenez, Jeom by Kang-Min Kim, I’m OK by Elizabeth Hobbs, Coyote by Lorenz Wunderle, Raymonde, or the Vertical Escape by Sarah Van Den Boom, Solar Walk by Réka Bucsi, Late Afternoon by Louise Bagnall, Modern Lives by Bill Plympton and A Double Life by local trio Job, Joris & Marieke.

Feature films screening at KLIK ‘18 offer a multi-hued window onto the global animation scene: Big Fish & Begonia from Liang Zuan and Zhang Chun, The Breadwinner, I’ll Just live in Bando by Yongsun Lee, This Magnificent Cake! by Emma De Swaef and Marc James Roels, and the remastered re-release of George Dunning’s psychedelic Beatles masterpiece Yellow Submarine.
