Boat Rocker Rights Rolls to MIP with Toons ‘Strange Chores,’ ‘The Polos’

Global content distributor Boat Rocker Rights is heading to MIPCOM 2018 with an exciting slate featuring a host of new children’s shows, an original comedy and a diverse and entertaining factual offering. Among the highlights are animated kids’ adventure The Strange Chores and preschool edutainment show The Polos.

The Strange Chores (13 x 30’) is a quirky 2D animation for kids aged 6-11 following the exploits of two teenage wannabe warrior heroes and a super high-spirited ghost girl as they struggle to master the skills they need to replace the world’s greatest (and oldest) monster hunter. Kooky neighbour Old Man Helsing’s weird house at the end of their street turns out to be a secret portal to supernatural worlds and the enigmatic owner sets them freaky, bizarre and sometimes downright terrifying chores as they train to take over his monster-bashing role.

Preschool animated series The Polos (52 x 5’), from MarcoPolo Learning, Radical Sheep Productions and Jam Filled Entertainment, is based on the multi-award-winning educational apps from MarcoPolo E-Learning. The series creates a unique and compelling way to present a natural science curriculum.

Boat Rocker will also be featuring the scripted primetime spooky-themed family comedy Cavendish(8 x 30’) form Canadian comedians Andrew Bush and Mark Little, in production with Temple Street for a winter 2019 launch on CBC, and a new season of The Next Step (180 x 30’), about a group of young dancers striving, training and growing up together. Factual offerings include Vintage Tech Hunters (14 x 30’), docuseries History in the Making (S1 & S2 both 13 x 30’) and Late Nite Eats (S1 & S2 both 13 x 30’) from from Crooked Horse Prod., and the animals-with-wacky-names series You’re Called What? (13 x 30’) from Wild Bear Ent.

Jon Rutherford, President, Boat Rocker Rights, said: “We are really excited about our latest shows and delighted to bring such a rich and varied programming slate to MIPCOM. We’re looking forward to talking to broadcasters and platforms about our expanded catalogue of premium entertainment across all genres.”
