DC Offers Sneak Peek of New ‘Harley Quinn’ Series

DC Comic fans had a lot to be thankful for this past week as they were treated to news, panels and sneak peeks at some of the DC Universe’s new offerings at the New York Comic Con.

One big news was Kaley Cuoco will be voicing the title character in the new animated series Harley Quinn. The popular actress who plays Penny on the hit series Big Bang Theory will be portraying Batman’s nemesis in the upcoming project which will be available on the new DC Universe streaming service ($7.99 a month)in 2019. Among the service’s other titles are Young Justice: Outsiders and four live-action projects (Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Stargirl).

Harley Quinn’s first appearance was in September 1992 in an episode of the Batman: The Animated Series. The character was portrayed by Margot Robbie in the 2016 feature film Suicide Squad. Among the star-studded cast of the new Harley Quinn animated series are Lake Bell (Childrens Hospital), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Ron Funches (Powerless), J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Wanda Sykes (Black-ish), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Natalie Morales (BoJack Horseman), Jim Rash (Mike Tyson Mysteries), Diedrich Bader (Veep), Tony Hale (Arrested Development) and Chris Meloni (Law & Order: SVU). Cuocois also executive producing the series with with Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey.
