Dress for a Sick, Sad World with Lazy Oaf x Daria

MTV has kicked off a raft of fashion collaborations celebrating the brand’s legacy. The highlight for edgy animation fans is the just-launched Lazy Oaf x Daria collection — 11 pieces inspired by the characters Daria, Jane and Quinn. The apparel & accessories line ranges from around $20 for accessories to about $120/$155 for jackets, and launched on www.lazyoaf.com October 25.

A new animated series Daria and Jodie from writer Grace Edwards (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Inside Amy Schumer), is in the works at MTV Studios.

The collection includes:

  • Daria gear: Oversized “Sick Sad World” trucker jacket in forest green corduroy with removable shearling collar and pink logo; “I Don’t Like to Smile” yellow pleated kilt
  • Jane duds: “Go to Hell Chore” relaxed-fit worker’s jacket with pizza patch; “I Hate Everybody” pants with raw hems and subtle ankle embroidery
  • Quinn’s look: “Quinn Fitted Tee” featuring cut-out details and cute capped sleeves
  • Plus, two oversized tees with screen-printed show art and meme-friendly Jane and Daria quotes, “I Hate Everybody” black tote bag, and a pack of three custom enamel pin badges.

International retailer H&M has launched the M[tv]OSCHINO collaboriation, which uses the classic MTV logo in men’s and women’s apparel and accessories (on sale Nov. 8). American Eagle is also incorporating the MTV logo for an extensive collection of men’s and women’s wear, from socks and tees to totes and outerwear (available now online and in-store). And Canadian luxury menswear designer Christopher Bates has launched a line of limited-edition MTV sneakers bedecked with metal studs, black patent leather and shiny gold and silver soles, retailing at Gotstyle and christopherbates.com for around $500 CAD.
