HIDIVE Becomes Newest VRV Anime Channel as Funimation Departs

Ellation’s VRV announces anime streaming platform HIDIVE has come on board as the service’s newest channel partner, just as word comes that Funimation is parting ways with VRV and Crunchyroll. The Funimation channel and its dubbed anime lineup will cease to be available with the VRV Premium Subscription bundle or as an individual channel as of November 9.

In a couple weeks, exciting fan-favorite titles from HIDIVE like Made in Abyss, Food Wars, Elfien Lied, Bloom Into You and Highschool of the Dead will arrive on VRV, to be followed by its full catalog of more than 500 titles. HIDIVE’s collection of subtitled, dubbed and simulcast offerings combined with Crunchyroll’s mega Japanese-language library will keep anime fans well supplied with content.

“VRV’s love-affair with anime is as strong as ever,” promises the platform’s blog, “VRV is more committed than ever to bringing you the newest and best titles from an ever-growing assortment of channels. Stay tuned as we have even more exciting content announcements coming soon!”
