Leading Russian animation studio Riki Group (Kikoriki, Baby Riki, Pincode) and transmedia content producers Tremblay Brothers have teamed up to launch a new animated series called The Kameleons. Targeting kids 6 to 11, the new show follows the everyday struggles and adventures of an all-chameleon music back as they seek global stardom. It’s described as a show is “infused with music, mania, pop culture, smartly crafted stories and a healthy dose of mischief.”
“We have long wanted to bring a musically themed show to life with real music created by today’s top producers,” says Christian Tremblay, president of Tremblay Bros. studios. “The Kameleons will not only make us laugh, but they will also make us dance and groove! It’s great to bring this project to life with the talented and extraordinary animation team of The Riki Group.”
Diana Yurinova, VP, of international business development and distribution at Riki Group adds, “Music is a language that transcends gender, culture and truly is universal. We are thrilled to be partnered with the Tremblay Brothers and inspire kids all around the world to follow the path of The Kameleons in the pursuit of their own wacky dreams!”
The first season of the show will feature 52 x 11-minute episodes. The show was developed by Christian and Yvon Tremblay based on Riki Group’s original concept. Veteran animation writer Derek Iverson (SpongeBob SquarePants) is leading the writing staff for the production, which also includes Miles Hindman and Laura Eichhorn, with additional story contributions by Christian and Yvon Tremblay.
The project will be presented for international buyers at the MIP Junior in Cannes this year.
