‘Batman: Mask of the Phantasm’ Returns to Theaters Nov. 12

A quarter century later, one of the most intriguing Dark Knight adventures ever to hit screens is returning to U.S. theaters for a one-day cinematic event: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Described by Paste Magazine as “the greatest Batman movie,” the 1993 flick will be presented in more than 500 theaters by Fathom Events on Monday, November 12, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets are available now at www.fathomevents.com or at participating theater box offices.

Directed by Batman: The Animated Series leads Eric Radomski and Bruce W. Tim from a screenplay by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini, Martin Pasko and Michael Reeves, Mask of the Phantasm follows the Caped Crusader on a quest to clear his name after vicious mob bosses are found murdered, leaving all fingers pointing to Batman as the perpetrator.

The film features the voices of Kevin Conroy as Batman, Stacy Keach as Phantasm, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. as Alfred, Dana Delany as Andrea Beaumont, and Mark Hamill as The Joker. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm will be presented with the hilarious 2010 Looney Tunes animated short Rabid Rider, starring Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.

Fathom Events is also bringing back Richard Donner’s legendary 1978 Superman feature to mark its 40th anniversary (and the 80th anniversary of the character’s inception at DC Comics). The box-office hit will soar across screens once more on Sunday, Nov. 25 and Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Superman will be accompanied with the Max Fleischer cartoon Superman: Mechanical Monsters, which has not been in cinemas since its original release in 1941.
