20th Century Fox has released the first trailer, official poster and character posters for upcoming espionage adventure Spies in Disguise — a high-octane, globe-trotting comedy kicked off by a major what-the-flock moment, as you’ll see in the spot. Spies in Disguise arrives in theaters September 13, 2019.
Animated by Blue Sky Studios and produced with Chernin Entertainment, CG flick introduces super spy Lance Sterling (voiced by Will Smith) and scientist Walter Beckett (Tom Holland). Lance is smooth, suave and debonair. Walter is… not. But what Walter lacks in social skills he makes up for in smarts and invention, creating the awesome gadgets Lance uses on his epic missions. But when events take an unexpected turn, Walter and Lance suddenly have to rely on each other in a whole new way. And if this odd couple can’t learn to work as a team, the whole world is in peril.
The voice cast also features Ben Mendelsohn, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, DJ Khaled and Masi Oka. Spies in Disguise is directed by Troy Quane and Nick Bruno, based on the animated short Pigeon: Impossible by Lucas Martell.
In addition to showing off Lance’s slick moves and Walter’s brilliant bungle, the trailer sneak peeks Lance’s Audi RSQ e-tron — a fictional, virtual performance concept car created especially for the film by Audi Design in cooperation with Blue Sky Studios. The full-battery electric model has built in automated driving, artificial intelligence and transformational technology.
