Millimages Secures Slate of Deals at ATF

Emmy-nominated European kids’ entertainment producer Millimages has returned from Asia TV Forum in Singapore with a slate of new deals for its popular programs.

South Korean media giant CJ E&M has picked up Pirata & Capitano (52 x 11’) for their children’s channel Tooniverse, while its new outlet English GEM (launched in May) has added both Pirata & Capitano and the studio’s signature series Mouk (S1 62 x 11’) to its lineup.

Pirata & Capitano was also snagged by Chinese media company Wow Dadi, alongside seasons 1 & 2 of Corneil & Bernie (104 x 13’) and Paper Port (52 x 11’).

Aimed at an upper-preschool audience, Pirata & Capitano is a comedy-adventure series following its titular duo as they sail The Great Sea on their vessel “The Pink Skull,” seeking out hidden treasure, joyful challenges and new friends — until their thirst for thrills inevitably leads to trouble!

The series is co-produced by Rai Italy, and has previously sold to Channel 5 for Milkshake! (U.K.), Lagardère Tiji, SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), RUV (Iceland), TV3 (Spain), Gloob (Brazil), Al Jazeera (Middle East), Canal+ (Poland), Gulli Girl (Russia), ETV (Estonia), LTV (Latvia) and more. Millimages just started the production of season 2 (52 x 11’).
