The Academy of Cinema Arts & Sciences in France has unveiled the nominees for the 44th César Awards — the nation’s equivalent to the Oscars. Overall, the race is lead by Gilles Lellouche’s men’s synchronized swim team dramedy Sink or Swim and Xavier Legrand’s broken home drama Custody with 10 nominations each, followed by Jacques Audiard’s Gold Rush-era dark comedy The Sisters Brothers with nine.
The winners and honorary César awardee Robert Redford will be toasted at a ceremony to be held February 22 at the Salle Pleyel in Paris, hosted by honorary Academy president Kristin Scott Thomas.
