CALL FOR ENTRIES: 2019 Shanghai TV Festival & Shanghai Int’l Film Festival
Both events are seeking animation; submissions are free online to Shanghai TV Fest until March 20, 2019 and to SIFF until March 31, 2019.
Shanghai TV Festival (June 10-14), began in 1986, is the oldest and most important international TV festival in China. The core part, Magnolia Award Competition sees an annual participation of thousands of TV programs including animations from worldwide. Every year, dozens of international animation entries are selected and introduced into Chinese market and broadcast on Chinese television during the Festival, which is a highly appreciated and rare practice for foreign animations to be released on Chinese television channel.
Shanghai International Film Festival (June 15-24), founded in 1993, is China’s only non-specialized competitive international film festival accredited by FIAPF with its great influence in Asia. Competition section for Golden Goblet Award brings together over 2,000 films from more than 100 countries and regions around the world every year. The Animation Competition section for the Golden Goblet Award has boosted the Chinese public release of its entries like Song of the Sea and Loving Vincent, while the Panorama section includes many animations which are the best-sold screenings in the Festival.
