Animation Nights New York Returns to Cannes in 2019

Animation Nights New York will be returning to France next month to present the ANNY 2019 Cannes Program (Screening #44). The films represent a cohort of directors and producers from more than 13 different countries across four continents — including New York’s own Oscar-nominated indie icon, Bill Plympton.

Offered as an additional opportunity for ANNY filmmakers, a total of 18 international shorts will head to the 72nd Cannes Film Festival for exhibition. The films will be available for viewing on the ANNY channel in the Short Film Corner Library, from May 20-25, and presented during a special market screening in the Marché du Film on May 23 at 13:30 in Palais H. Attending filmmakers will also receive access to the First Edition of the Animation Day at Cannes, presented in partnership with the Annecy animation festival. (Further details TBA.)

ANNY Cannes participants will receive festival accreditation with on-site support from the ANNY team. ANNY will host mixer events and networking opportunities with industry professionals via ANNY Exchange. In addition, ANNY will participate in events with the Cannes Court Metrage Short Film Corner.

ANNY presents monthly screenings of new, compelling animated films and VR pieces from around the world, as well as networking events and an annual Best of Fest film festival and convention. Learn more at www.animationnights.com.
