The charming anime feature Penguin Highway from Studio Colorido will be released on Blu-ray + DVD combo pack, DVD and digital download on August 6, 2019 from ELEVEN ARTS Anime Studio and Shout! Factory. Winner of a 42nd Japan Academy Award for Excellent Animation of the Year, Penguin Highway is available for pre-order now, following its North American theatrical release this April. The release includes both the original Japanese audio with subtitles, and English-language dub.
Directed by Hiroyasu Ishida (Fastening Days, Sonny Boy & Dewdrop Girl), the film is a sci-fi tinted coming-of-age tale based on the novel by Tomihiko Morimi (The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl).>
Synopsis: Budding genius Aoyama is only in the 4th grade, but already lives his life like a scientist. When penguins start appearing in his sleepy suburb, hundreds of miles from the sea, Aoyama vows to solve the mystery.
