In the latest installment of Red Giant software co.’s YouTube tutorial series Cheap Tricks, Dan “Hashi” Hashimoto (Action Movie Dad) gets fired up to demonstrate how to conjure magical fire effects like those seen in HBO’s fantasy phenomenon Game of Thrones. Finally, artists can learn to unleash their inner Melisandre and learn some R’hllor-worthy VFX moves!
“One of the things I hope you learn from these examples was how quick and intuitive Supercomp can feel when applying to a shot using raw materials like this and outputting a final shot like that,” Hashi says in the video. “Honestly one of the best parts of integrating Supercomp into your workflow is that you can shop through final looks really quickly.
