Netflix debuted the brand-new main trailer for upcoming epic fantasy The Witcher to fans at Italy’s Lucca Comics and Games convention on Thursday, peeling back the curtain on the story’s complex world, powerful magic, and the monsters lurking in its shadows. The spot was revealed during a panel discussion with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (The Umbrella Academy, Daredevil) and cast members cast members Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Allan (Ciri).
The trailer launch also confirms for fans that all eight episodes of The Witcher will drop on Netflix globally on December 20.
Based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s best-selling fantasy book series, which also inspired the hit videogame franchise, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.
Henry Cavill (Mission Impossible – Fallout, Man of Steel) leads the cast as Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher, alongside Anya Chalotra (The ABC Murders, Wanderlust) as Yennefer and Freya Allan (The War of the Worlds, Into The Badlands) as Ciri.
