The deal announced in August which would see Hasbro (My Little Pony, Transformers) acquire Canadian indie studio Entertainment One (Peppa Pig, PJ Masks) for $4 billionis being investigated by the U.K.’s antitrust body.
The Competition and Markets Authority said Thursday that it will examine the agreement and assess whether it would mean a “substantial lessening of competition” in the U.K. The investigating body has set a January 21 deadline to decide whether to move into a more in-depth Phase 2, 24-week review.
