‘HTTYD: The Hidden World’ Scores Double Win at Voice Arts Awards

The 6th annual Voice Arts Awards, presented by the Society of Voice Arts & Sciences, were a big success for DreamWorks’ acclaimed franchise finale How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. The film took home two of the top feature animation prizes in an evening which honored voiceover excellence in dozens of categories, from commercials and video games to TV and film, and many other genres.

  1. Murray Abraham was awarded Best Voiceover – Best Animation Character: Motion Picture. The Hidden World dominated this category, with other nominees including co-stars Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Gerard Butler and Kristen Wiig.

In addition, the cast — Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, F. Murray Abraham, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, Kit Harington, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill and Justin Rupple — were awarded Outstanding Voiceover, Motion Picture Animation Cast/Ensemble. The other two films nominated were Toy Story 4 and Ralph Breaks the Internet (the SOVAS eligibility period is not based on calendar year).

Outstanding Casting – Feature Film Animation: Jamie Sparer Roberts, CSA; Ralph Breaks the Internet

Outstanding Casting – TV Animation: Nicole Arbusto, Animals

Outstanding Anime VO: Ruth Urguhart, RWBY “Tock Fights Maria”

Outstanding Virtual Reality VO: Julie-Ann Dean, Table of Tales
