LA Animation Festival Unspools This Weekend

The Los Angeles Animation Festival returns this weekend, presenting 10 hours of mostly independent short films from LA, around California, across the U.S. and around the world. Taking place Saturday and Sunday, December 7-8 at The Mayflower Club theater-club venue in North Hollywood (11110 Victory Blvd.), the event will also feature informative panels with special guests and special evening events.

This year’s special guests include festival honoree, animation historian and current ASIFA-Hollywood President Jerry Beck; animation producer and Frederator founder Fred Seibert (Adventure Time); the creators of the new Looney Tunes short Curse of the Monkey Bird; and many other inspiring creatives who have worked on celebrated titles from The Boss Baby to Star Wars Rebels.

Day passes to the LAAF are just $10. Evening events (separate admission) include a Saturday night party with presentation, interviews, raffles and the live music of Scott Healy (long-time keyboardist for Late Night with Conan O’Brien), and a Sunday night awards ceremony.
