Pixelatl has announced that the studio selected as a creative partner for its 2020 edition is Exodo Animation Studio. The animation, comics and video game festival will take place from September 1-5 in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
Over the past several years, Pixelatl Festival and Market has become the most important platform to connect Latin American creators with the global creative industries across animation, comic books and video games. Each year, Pixelatl collaborates with an animation studio starting with the Pixelatl Manifesto published in January each year (in 2020, the main theme is, “We are all children of the same land.”) and from there the creative partner develops the festival image and an animated short ident film to promote the event and key concept.
Exodo Animation Studios is a studio established in Guadalajara, Mexico 14 years ago. They specialize in 3D & 2D character animation from concept art to character refinement and final renders.
The studio started out producing commercial animation for international agencies such as DDB, BBDO, Y&R and Publicis, among others; and doing work for hire for clients such as Coca-Cola, Sony, Honda, Nestlé, HP, Bimbo and Cinepolis, to name a few. Currently, Exodo describe themselves as a “One Stop Shop” that can handle the complete development process for projects, from concept to post-production and delivering masters.
Today, 90% of Exodo’s clients are located outside of Mexico, and they have developed their pipelines and workflows for international customers. The studio has been involved in international productions, Mexican animated series, Argentinian short films, feature animated films from India and Korea, music videos from Slovenia and the United Arab Emirates, and TV commercials from almost all these countries as well as China, Russia, Belgium, Australia, U.S.A., Canada and Saudi Arabia.
With this vast experience, the studio has been able to use and master multiple animation techniques and styles to combine them and create new innovative solutions. They have developed their own tools and software to integrate art and tech so that the final piece satisfies the customer and also impacts positively the general audience.
