Academy Museum Celebrates the Work of Black VFX Artists

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures online program will shine a spotlight on the accomplishments and perseverance of visual effects professionals in an interactive, online panel on The Work of Black VFX Artists. Taking place July 8 starting at 7 p.m. PT, the discussion will delve into the shared experiences of six Black film artists in the VFX industry and offer unique insight into their creative processes via break-out sessions.

Participating pros are Lyndon Barrois (The Thing 2011, The Matrix: Reloaded & Revolutions), Lauren Ellis (The Walking Dead, Son of Zorn), Audrea Topps-Harjo (Raised by Wolves, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey), Greg Anderson (When They See Us, Luke Cage), Andrew Roberts (Cops and Robbers, Black Panther) and Corey Turner (Transformers: The Last Knight, Ghost in the Shell 2017), who will opine on the secrets to their success as well as examine some of the obstacles they have encountered on their career paths.
