Daniel Powell, Aaron Augenblick form Kids Animation Outfit Future Brain Media

A new kids animation producer is entering the field, with the announcement that Ugly Americans collaborators Daniel Powell and Aaron Augenblick are joining forces to form Future Brain Media. The full-service company is already working on a pilot for PBS KIDS, created by Augenblick, designed by Gemma Correll (The Worrier’s Guide to Life) and featuring original music by Tunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio).

Future Brain Media is also working on a project with General Mills, as well as further collaborations with Correll, Katie Wendt (The Jellies), Devin Clark (Ugly Americans), R. Sikoryak (Masterpiece Comics), Brian Weaver (Joey Fly), Ryan Mauskopf (The Onion) and Kevin Maher (Kevin Geeks Out).

Augenblick (represented by Management 360) is the founder of Augenblick Studios, the indie animation producer behind Ugly Americans, Superjail!, The Jellies, Wonder Showzen, Headspace Guide to Meditation and the upcoming Teenage Euthanasia.

Powell (repped by Range Media and UTA) is president of prodco Irony Point, co-creator of Inside Amy Schumer and exec producer/director of the comedian’s upcoming Hulu series Life & Beth; his producing credits also include Astronomy Club, That Damn Michael Che and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson.

The duo previously collaborated on the animated mockumentary short Golden Age, which explores the strange corners of historic Toon Town and was selected for the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.
