GKIDS Sets English-Language Cast for ‘Belle’ (New Trailer)

GKIDS today announced the English-language voice cast for Oscar-nominated filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda’s latest feature, Belle. The roster can be heard in the newly released dubbed trailer, which you can watch below. 

The English-language dub will feature the voices of Chace Crawford (The Boys, Gossip Girl), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers, The Good Place) and Hunter Schafer (Euphoria). In her first lead role, playing teenager Suzu and the titular virtual singer ‘Belle’ is Kylie McNeill, who also recorded English versions of the film’s soundtrack, which will be released on January 14 by Milan Records. 

The English-language version of the film was produced by GKIDS and NYAV Post. The original music team, including Taisei Iwasaki, Takayuki Chiyo and Ludvig Forssell additionally supervised the English-language song adaptation in collaboration with GKIDS and NYAV Post.

Crawford is represented by Podwall Entertainment and CAA. Jacinto is represented by Alchemy Entertainment, CAA, Principals Talent & McKuin Frankel. McNeill is represented by Carson Adler. Schafer is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, Viewpoint and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.

Belle opens theatrically and on IMAX screens in both its original Japanese and all new English dubbed version on January 14, 2022, with exclusive IMAX previews in select markets beginning January 12, 2022. Tickets are on sale now at BelleFilm.com.

Synopsis: From the celebrated Academy Award-nominated director Mamoru Hosoda and Studio Chizu, creators of Mirai, Wolf Children, Summer Wars and more, comes a fantastical, heartfelt story of growing up in the age of social media. 

Suzu is a shy, everyday high school student living in a rural village. For years, she has only been a shadow of herself. But when she enters “U”, a massive virtual world, she escapes into her online persona as Belle, a gorgeous and globally-beloved singer. One day, her concert is interrupted by a monstrous creature chased by vigilantes. As their hunt escalates, Suzu embarks on an emotional and epic quest to uncover the identity of this mysterious “beast” and to discover her true self in a world where you can be anyone.
