Sibling filmmaker duo Adamma & Adanne Ebo (Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul) have signe donto a multi-year overall deal with 20th Television and 20th Telelvision Animation to develop, create and produce both animated and live-action series for all platforms.
“I bonded instantly with Adamma and Adanne because they are just as obsessed with animation as we are,” said Marci Proietto, Animation EVP, 20th Television. “The Ebo Twins have unique voices and perspectives with countless stories to tell. I am super excited to welcome them to our 20th Animation Family.”
The twins are already in development on an animated original for Freeform: Supashawty Girls, Funkamatic Bangbang, which they are writing and executive producing with Tiffany Haddish and Melanie Clark. The series will follow twin college students Yeze and Tule who are transformed into superheroes by a freak lab accident. Forced to juggle their new super-powered identities and growing up, the twins would ‘rather kick it than kick butt.’
“20th continues to be flexible in an ever-evolving TV landscape, while supporting various creative sensibilities. And as creators with a non-stop running list of ideas, we’re super hyped to have studio partners who are just as committed to adding and challenging the television cultural zeitgeist in both animation and live-action,” the Ebos commented.
The twins’ most recent feature film project, Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul sold to Focus Features and Monkeypaw at Sundance earlier this year. Their TV writing credits include the upcoming series Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Prime Video) and Batman: Caped Crusader (HBO Max). Adamma also has directed an episode of Atlanta (FX) and three episodes of Donald Glover’s Hive (Prime).
Adamma and Adanne Ebo are represetned by UTA, Redefine Entertainment and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
