The highly anticipated Season 4 return of the Emmy-winning Netflix original The Dragon Prince is just around the corner, and fans were today treated to another teaser trailer offering a look at where this magical animated journey will take them next. This next phase of the saga, dubbed The Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos, will begin a multi-season arc centering on the enigmatic Startouch elf, Aaravos.
As announced at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this summer, Season 4 also introduces Earthblood elves for the first time, including a new character — the affable and loveable Terry (voiced by Benjamin Callins) — and a new environment, the Drakewood.
Produced by Wonderstorm and led by co-creators Aaron Ehasz (head writer of Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Justin Richmond (game director of Uncharted 3), the new season will debut with nine episodes in November.
Synopsis: It’s been two years since the Battle of the Storm Spire in 3. Peace has been restored throughout the lands but tensions persist between the human kingdoms and Xadia.
With Amaya at her side, Janai (Rena Anakwe) must rebuild the Sunfire elves from the ashes of the Corrupted Core. Ezran (Sasha Rojen) has fully stepped into his role as king of Katolis, protected by both Soren (Jesse Inocalla) and Corvus (Omari Newton) as his Crownguard. Zym is no longer just a hatchling. Callum (Jack De Sena) has replaced Viren (Jason Simpson) as High Mage. And Rayla (Paula Burrows) has since left Callum in search of Viren, her whereabouts unknown…
In Season 4, we see Aaravos’ (Erik Todd Dellums) plans begin to take shape. Under Aaravos’ guidance, Claudia (Racquel Belmonte) has resurrected her father, Viren, at great cost to herself, but he only has 30 days to live unless they free Aaravos from his mysterious prison. Claudia will stop at nothing to unearth the long-lost location of Aaravos’ prison in order to save her father, while our heroes must race against time to stop her from unleashing the dangerous Startouch elf on the world…
