FOX’s Bento Box and Boulder Media Forge Multi-Year Animation Pact

FOX Entertainment’s Emmy Award-winning animation studio Bento Box Entertainment and Dublin-based animation studio Boulder Media have entered a multi-year production services agreement, it was jointly announced today (Friday, Dec. 2) by Brett Coker, Chief Operating Officer and Partner of Bento Box, and Paul O’Flanagan, Creative Director of Boulder Media.

Boulder Media, which last month was acquired by Australia-based Princess Pictures, will provide production services to numerous primetime animated series housed under the Bento Box banner, including FOX’s upcoming comedies Krapopolis, from creator Dan Harmon and starring Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham, Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Pam Murphy and Duncan Trussell; and Grimsburg, executive produced by and starring Jon Hamm. Both series are fully-owned by FOX Entertainment and distributed by FOX Entertainment Global.

Boulder Media also will support production on third-party series and specials produced by Bento Box.

In addition to the work with Bento Box, Boulder will continue to work with various other studios, with Chatrone representing them in that arena.

“This strategic relationship and shared access between Boulder Media and Bento Box ensures our scope and reach to local artists and creators is truly global as the value of premium animation continues to rise,” said Coker.

The deal will be spearheaded by Bento Box’s Head of Production, Dana Cameron, who noted, “Ireland boasts some of the strongest animation talent in the world. It’s a deep well of creatives we were fortunate to tap into on The Bob’s Burgers Movie, and since then we’ve been looking for ways to re-apply Dublin’s creative community to our growing slate of programming.”

“We are delighted to be partnering with Bento Box in bringing their substantial slate of shows to life via this multi-year, multi-project output deal. We are excited to be producing more content in the adult genre, now for primetime broadcast and to be working with the best creative talent in this field. This is an exciting new chapter for Boulder and the Irish animation industry, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner than the team at Bento Box,” added O’Flanagan.

A FOX Entertainment company, Bento Box Entertainment is an award-winning animation production company with studios in Los Angeles, Atlanta and, in partnership with Princess Bento Studio, Melbourne, Australia. Recent work includes programming on Apple TV+ (Central ParkWolfboy and the Everything Factory), Comedy Central (BrickleberryLegends of Chamberlain Heights), FOX (Bob’s BurgersThe Great NorthHouseBroken), 20th Century Studios (The Bob’s Burgers Movie), Hulu (Koala ManThe Awesomes), NBC (The David S.
