A fresh high-speed critter caper is heading to U.S. theaters, as Viva Kids (The Amazing Maurice, 100% Wolf) announces it has acquired North American rights to animated family feature Rally Road Racers (formerly known as Silk Road Rally). Written and directed by Ross Venokur (Charming), the pic tells the story of a small, slow-moving mammal whose life takes an accelerated turn:
To save his grandmother’s home from demolition, young Zhi wages a bet with Vainglorious, the reigning champion of the rally car circuit. With help from a former racing champion, Zhi enters the four-day Silk Road Rally in hopes of winning the cup and living out his racing dreams.
Viva Kids is planning a nationwide release on 1,500+ screens on May 12.
