Canal+ (France) has become the first broadcaster to pick up Season 2 of Noodle and Bun, which has just gone into production, following the recent completion of Season 1, which the channel has also acquired. Monster recently picked up distribution rights to the ongoing 5-minute series from South African studio Polycat.
Noodle and Bun is a 3D CG, non-verbal comedy for six- to 12-year olds which follows the adventures of Noodle, a wobbly cat who causes trouble; Bean, a pug who whimpers in the face of danger; and Bun, a little mouse who holds this peculiar group together.
“The craziness, humor and quality of Noodle and Bun will shake Canal+kids’ grid,” said Geraldine Soto, Head of Acquisitions for the Kids Department at Canal+.
Andrew Fitzpatrick, Managing Director of Monster, agreed, “Canal+ is the perfect home for Noodle and Bun. We’re so excited that they’ve fallen in love with this very unique series which is quickly building a global following.”
The series, which is already a hit on YouTube and across social media with 7.1m followers, has also been sold to YLE in Finland, Filmin’s SVOD service in Spain and Portugal, to the Kidoodle app, Megogo in Ukraine and to Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, Air France and Aegean airlines.
The main characters from the series have appeared recently on France’s Got Talent and will soon star in Britain’s Got Talent on ITV and America’s Got Talent on NBC.
